Extinction + Migration
Climate change is turning entire regions uninhabitable, producing refugees displaced from their homes by the changes and accompanying natural disasters. Along with the human refugees, entire ecosystems of plants, animals and microorganisms are going extinct or being displaced. These human and animal refugees must migrate together in designed vessels that can sustain their populations until a new home is found. This world is this migrating one, the forests that have become deserts, the coral reefs that have become acidic wastelands, the glaciers that have melted into the ocean, and every human cohabitant that relied on the natural order for survival. It is a world held together by a strong synanthropic memory of the way things were for tens of millions of years.
